9 Prayers for Your War Room

war room prayers

Have you been inspired by the War Room movie to pray more fervently for your marriage?

The movie is a must see!! The storyline brought me back to my own marriage crisis. Just like Elizabeth, God sent me the incredible gift of a mentor who taught me to pray God’s Word aloud over myself and our marriage. I didn’t have a prayer closet, but I pasted prayers into a little notebook and read them in restaurant parking lots, on the treadmill, and many other places. With that little notebook, I had a traveling war room.

prayers for your war roomIf you are ready to join God in the fight for your marriage, you can take these nine prayers from Prayers for New Brides: Putting on God’s Amor After the Wedding Dress  into your own war room. The Scripture references listed will help you confirm the truths you are praying over your marriage are in agreement with God’s character, His ways and His will for you.

Your Relationship with God

I want to see myself as You see me. I want to agree with Your thoughts about me so that I become the woman and wife You designed me to be. Break down the walls of fear and pride that keep me from knowing who I became when I embraced Jesus’ sacrificial love on the Cross.

I invite Your Holy Spirit to convict me of any sin that I have committed that separates me from the full knowledge of You and my place in Your family.

Scripture References: 1 Corinthians 2:16; Proverbs 16:18; Philippians 4:6; John 16:8; 2 Peter 1:2; Ephesians 2:19

Your Mind

Purify my mind, Lord. Transform my thoughts by the power of Your Word. Show me where and when my thoughts about ______ do not agree with Your thoughts. Ignite in me an unquenchable desire to see him as You see him. Let Your Holy Spirit be my husband-appreciating coach, pointing out to me his noble and praiseworthy attributes.

Scripture References: 2 Corinthians 7:1; Romans 12:2; John 14:26; Philippians 4:8

Your Heart

I need Your help to guard my heart against bitterness, selfishness, and temptation to pursue the attention of other men. Be my gentle shepherd. Lead me away from the activities and relationships that would keep me from prioritizing our marriage over every other earthly relationship.

Scripture References: Proverbs 4:23; Ephesians 4:31; Philippians 2:4; Mathew 6:13; Psalm 23:1; Hebrews 13:4

Your Influence

Thank you for the influence you have given me in ________’s life. Use me to affirm him, his purpose in Your kingdom, and the gifts You have given him. When he looks into my eyes, I want him to experience Your love an compassion. When he hears my voice calling his name, let him hear Your voice delighting in him. When he hears me talk about him, confirm for him the value of his life as Your creation.

Scripture References: 1 Peter 3:1; Ephesians 5:1,33; Zephaniah 3:17

His Relationship with God

Inspire _____ to live in obedience to Your Word. Remind him of the peaceful and confident life You deliver when he lives out Your instructions. I want his heart and mind to be brimming with joy and peace. Because of His relationship with You, his life will be hope-filled!

Scripture References: James 1:22-25; Isaiah 32:17; Romans 15:13

His Thoughts

My heart’s cry for ________ is that he would know You, the God of the Bible, and know who he is to You. Tear down any misconceptions that he has about You. Help him to see that You are the God that gives 1 Corinthians 13 love: patient, kind and enduring love to him. I invite You to teach him Your character and roles in his life. Help him to know You as his defender, his counselor, his shepherd, his comforter, his encourager, his Savior, and so much more.

Scripture References: Isaiah 6, 9:6; Psalm 18:1, 23:1; John 15:26; Luke 1:47

His Character and Will

You created ______ to reflect Your strength and confidence. Oh, that Your Holy Spirit would shield _____’s eyes from the world’s self-sufficient idea of manhood. Nurture in _______ a willingness to surrender his will and run this race to accomplish Yours.

Scripture References: Genesis 1:27 Psalm 37:7; Acts 5:39; 1 John 2:16-17; Hebrews 12:1

Your Communication

Grant us Your wisdom when addressing difficult subjects. Let us see and hear the other’s heart with the spiritual wisdom that You freely give. Teach us to speak truth to each other in love. As we navigate these days together, let our words and actions toward the other be compassionate, humble, patient, gentle, and kind.

Scripture References: James 1:5; Ephesians 1:18, 4:15; Isaiah 11:2; Colossians 3:12

Your Unity

Lord, I declare that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is fighting for me and ______ so that we live together operating as one.

Let the challenges of life push us forward into total dependence on You to remain together.

I trust that taking up our cross and laying down our lives for each other will lead to an amazing life of love together. We are one. Teach us to think as one, not selfishly or independently. With Your moment-by-moment leadership, we will finish the race together.

Scripture References: Romans 8:11; Genesis 2:23; 1 Corinthians 1:10; Proverbs 3:5, Psalm 62:5; Luke 9:23; Romans 15:5-6; 2 Timothy 4:7

Thank you so much for sharing this! I had been praying about being more intentional about praying for my husband. I felt like I needed some specific scriptures and promises to reference. So for the past few days I’ve been reading aloud the prayers and will be writing down the verses as well. I agree the movie was great, it reignited my fire to fight the right way for my marriage. Now I feel equipped with some bible study tools. This is so helpful and was an answer to prayer for me to pray more lol. I have the right armor on now 🙂

    1. Michele, I’m so happy that God has met your right where you are to help you do exactly what He has prompted You to do. The way He helps us is SO incredible. I’m thankful to have been a very small part of it.

      1. Elizabeth

Hi Jennifer, Thank you so much for your prayers. They have been a wonderful guide in teaching me how to pray for my marriage. I am newly married and my husband and I have had such a difficult year. Which has been demoralising for both of us as we didn’t expect the problems so soon. I failed to lay my issues before the Lord and instead blamed him for putting me in a difficult situation and I see now how wrong my approach had been. My husband is a wonderful man but not a good communicator, not the best at resolving conflicts, a counter opinion could lead to an argument and I tried it my way for so long and realised it was time to try it God’s way and commit it all to him. My fervent prayer is that he finds God, I know deep down he is hurting (he has been through a lot) and I am praying the Lord gives him peace. Please have us in your prayers. Thank you

        1. Elizabeth, one of the things you can pray for both you and your husband is that God would open up new places in your brains that would enable you to be great communicators with each other.
I’m so glad you are seeking God for the help you and your husband need. God is ABLE! to do exceedingly and abundantly MORE than you can ask or imagine for your marriage. He will show you how to pray. He is ready to give you all the wisdom you need and also the courage to move on that wisdom. May God crown you both with the humility of Jesus and the unity He desires for you to experience together.

          1. Elizabeth

Thanks Jennifer for replying and your kind advice. I will try my very best by God’s grace to heed your advice. Sometimes it is very difficult in the midst of rancour and hurtful words. But my renewed focus is on pleasing God and doing that which pleases him. And I know my Lord is able!!!

  2. Jennifer, I haven’t gotten to see the War Room yet, as it hasn’t been released here in China. But I love your prayers. These are wonderful and encouraging. I especially liked the part asking God to show you where your thoughts about your spouse don’t agree with God’s thoughts. Those prayers can change a marriage… for the better. Blessings, Kevin

    1. Hi Kevin. I’m sorry to just be responding to your kind words of encouragement. I am living proof that God will change a marriage by answering that prayer. He is a mighty God with wonderful ways of helping us follow Him. God bless you and your ministry. Have you seen the movie yet?

      1. God is a loving friend and helpmate. I still haven’t seen the movie, but I have heard so many good things about it. My friends tell me the extra features in the DVD are just as powerful. Prayer is a wonderful connection with God, and I’m grateful for you desire to share the joy and significance you have experienced. You are impacting lives. Blessings.

      1. Lamonica, I know our God loves you with an indescribable love. His compassion for you if immeasurable. I pray that He would reveal Himself to you and your boyfriend and reveal to you the truth that you both need to know about yourselves. May He help you both to cooperate with His mighty power and grant You the ability to express His love to each other. In Jesus, I pray. amen

  3. These are wonderful Jennifer. Please consider sharing at Word of God Speak. http://www.janiscox.com under my blog. Do you have a PDF for these? It would be great to print them off and pray from my war room.
    Blessings,
    Janis

    1. Janis, I do not have them as a PDF but you are welcome to copy and paste them onto a sheet for your War Room. I will consider creating the PDF though. Thank you for the idea. For your blog, you are welcome to share one of the prayers and then link back to this page for your readers to see the rest. Thank you for the offer! God bless you!

      1. Jennifer,
I will try to remember to link back to you, but I have shared your post on Facebook and Twitter. I think you have done a marvellous job in this post. That’s an excellent idea if I choose one of those scriptures to study – to link back to you with your prayer. I just have to remember to come back here.
        Blessings,
        Janis

        1. PS The best part of your post, I think, is the scripture references. Thank you so much.
          Blessings,
          Janis

  4. Cristina

    Hi Jennifer.
Im ready for a divorce, but I know God wants me to pray for my husband. I been very proud to do that. He has hurt me a lot with his lies and affair.
Please give me specific scriptures to pray for him.
Thank you and God bless your work. Cristina

    1. Hi Cristina. I’m so proud of you for choosing God’s way for your marriage instead of following your own feelings. I do not have specific prayers written for your specific situation, but I will consider writing some in the future. May God give you the wisdom and revelation you need on how to pray for yourself, your husband and your marriage. I hope you will check out my book, Prayers for New Brides. It will offer you many prayers that will be helpful for you.

    2. Daisy

      Cristina,
I recently had an affair and my husband and I were separated for a time just before it. Though we were separated, it was still an affair as I was married not only on paper but in the eyes of God. Fortunately, I did not completely lose my walk with Christ and I knew I had to somehow fight back to my marriage. I let the other person go, as the mere thought of my husband never seeing or talking to me again was unbearable and I lie in tears at the heartbreak of what was happening. The first 2 months were the most difficult to get the other person out of my head as there was a lot of mental and emotional damage done there. Though the roles were not reversed, and I cannot say I have experienced being on that side of the fence, I can tell you that my husband prayed daily for me to find myself and my way back to him. He also prayed daily that he could continue to hang on just a little longer. He did not give up on me. The road is long and you will likely need a lot of questions answered, such as why and when and where. You both have to be at a place to save your marriage and be open to knowing that those answers will cause some anger and hurt. But in the end, it is best for both of you to move on. I would pray a specific pray that God open his eyes to his love for you and open your heart to forgiveness of his sin. Ask God daily to help you to see His will for your marriage and to continue helping your husband to flee from temptations. My husband and I also began reading Desperate Marriages and Married Without Regrets. We are 4 months into saving our marriage. God bless and stay strong.

  5. Kera Wedding

    Hi Jennifer,
My fiance and I just watched war room last night and I’ve already picked out a spot for my war room and started writing. I’ve been writing prayers for myself, my fiance, and his son. God had laid it on my heart to pray for his son’s mother as well, but I do not know where to start. Its difficult to pray for someone that causes you much frustration. Any advice, scriptures, or writings to help get me started?

    1. Kera I am excited to hear about your expanding prayer life. I’m so glad you were inspired by the War Room movie. I believe your prayers the one who frustrates you will bear much fruit! I’m confident that the Holy Spirit has inspired you to love her by praying for her. I recommend confessing your frustrations to God on a very regular basis and immediately choosing to forgive her. Here is a post that is helpful on that subject. Surviving Life’s Storms: http://www.jenniferowhite.com/surviving-lifes-storms/

We all have people in our lives that are difficult, even toxic. Here is an article on how to pray for the toxic people in your life: http://www.jenniferowhite.com/prayer-toxic-people/

As far as a specific Scripture, I think Ephesians 3:15-20 is perfect to pray for yourself, your fiancé, his son, and his son’s mother.

You are embarking on a great journey. I am thrilled you are walking with God and pursuing godliness.

  6. Kay

I’ve never been married but the movie
WAR ROOM has inspired me to pray more.
Also to create my own war room, thank you.

    1. Kay, I’m so excited to hear that you are praying more. There are many unmarried women who pray the Word and will of God for their future spouse even if they have never met them.

  7. Mary

Hi Jennifer. Please, Can I get the book ” Prayers for new Brides” in a Portuguese version? Thank you so much.

    1. Mary I wish it were available for you, but the book has not been translated yet. My apologies.

    2. PHAT Portugee

This has nothing to do with the book, but I got all excited when I read this comment. Eu sou Portuguesa tambem!!!

  8. JustgettinstartedBLAH

    Hi Jennifer,
Sadly my marriage ended in 2008 ,but I had times of being able to go back home but Satan made tbr world look so pretty. He is a liar.. Today , my heart breaks everyday because I would love to have my husband back and my family. He has moved on by dating someone that he may marry one day. My guilt is so unbearable. We were married almost 20 years but together longer than that. Oh, to turn back time. How I wished this movie had came out years ago. My life may have been different. I was wrong for letting the devil trick my mind into things about my husband, therefore leading me down the wrong road.
Satan will take you further than you want to go.
Any advice or guidance to make my War Room?
    Blessings to you!

    1. I believe Isaiah 61 is a great place for you to read and pray for yourself. See yourself as a recipient of all that Jesus came to give you in that chapter.

      1. JustgettinstartedBLAH

Thank you! I will start there. Keep me in your prayers, my heart is very heavy and I do not know the direction of my life. I pray that if it is back with him, God will show the way and make it brand new. That is what I want, but that may not be God’s will.

  11. Kathryn

Need help praying for my 20 year old daughter. She is a great kid….none of the normal problems….she is lazy, acts like a 10 year old, doesn’t bathe properly, comb her hair….just satisfied with blah. My husband, her father, passed Sept. 2015. She has always been like this and I am afraid that should something happen to me she will be alone in the worst way. Who is going to put up with her like this? I have yelled, pouted, screamed, threatened to throw her out on her own, talked to her calmly and presented the facts. She doesn’t get it. She knows how lucky she is by looking around at the world, her friends and family. But still nothing. HELP. She doesn’t even know how to drive or even care to learn to drive.

    1. Kathryn, this is a great prayer that will help address many of the issues that your daughter might be dealing with: http://iamcallingyounow.blogspot.com/p/powerful-spiritual-warfare-prayer.html

You might also want to consider this one: http://www.jenniferowhite.com/jesus-is-lord/

    2. dp2014

This sounds like all the symptoms of depression. Yelling, pouting, threatening, etc will not work. You have lost your husband, and she has lost her father. You both are going through the grief process. Let it go. If she were gone tomorrow, all of those things would not matter. How about finding some counseling. If you have a church, call them and ask for a referral or help. Call your insurance company. There may be a support group for grieving family members in your family. Get involved in as many things as possible.

    3. Jessica Ro

Have you suggested she visit a psychologist? It may be worth having her talk in confidence with a 3rd party.

  12. Miss G

My husband and had a big argument I left the house for some days. When I came back he told me I’m not welcome and if I want to see the kids I need to call first. I stayed and is sleeping in my daughter’s room. He’s being a bully towards me and he turned off my phone so now I can’t receive or make calls .He said “our marriage is over.”I need some advice please

    1. Miss G. I’m sorry to hear that things are so difficult between you and your husband right now. I’ve offered many prayers in this post that I believe God will honor. I believe declaring Jesus as Lord over your marriage, yourself and your husband is a great place to start. I also believe you can invite the Lord to slay the pride in your marriage and crown you both with Jesus’ humility.

  13. Anne

Can you pray for me or perhaps give good advise, everytime I am in a relationship it always ends so bad and it makes me sad because men leave even when I haven’t done anything wrong,I am a very honest and genuine person everything I do is done with all my heart and when I’m in a relationship but for some reasons men just walk away or stop talking to me….

    1. Anne, this is a great prayer written by Germaine Copeland and published in her book, Prayers that Avail Much: http://www.prayers.org/prayers/Finding_a_Mate.asp

  14. Needful

What help can you give me or where can I look for a prayer on this topic…..I’ve been in a on and off relationship with a man since 1996.. We have had our ups and downs but always end up together in the end. I love him and I truly don’t want to be with anyone else. He has a kind heart but puts on a rough and tough exterior in public. And has a mean demeanor in the way he talks to people but it’s just that all talk. He doesn’t like to take people’s advice even if it’s the most logical choice. I want him to want to fight for our relationship and family. He’s not compassionate or even considerate about people’s feelings plus he uses people for his own purposes and will not reciprocate the favor….. What can I pray about that will cover all of this?

  15. Karli

Thank you for this amazing post!!! You have helped me get started praying over my marriage when I didn’t have the words! Thank you!!!

    1. Thrilled to hear that God has connected you to the words He was/is ready for you to pray. God be praised for His mercy and kindness!

  16. yy

Hi Jennifer, when I watched War Room, I felt that my marriage is on the same boat with Elizabeth where we just fight for a simple thing and hardly agree to other opinion. I am always felt threaten everytime my wife told me to do anything or gave her opinion. The same with her, hardly able to accept my decision. It’s probably not often that a husband is searching for help to save the marriage. Even my Pastor wouldn’t believe me at first. But after a few visits, I felt that he has also gave up with helping our troubles as we just didn’t want to let go. After watching this movie, I am inspired to start praying and attacking this evil lies. But I am not sure what pray that I should say as I read your pray are for husband and not for wife. Could you please give me some guidance ? Thank you so much. God bless you

    1. YY, I’m so excited that God has given you the zeal to pray for your marriage. I pray that He will also direct your prayers for your marriage. I believe God can give you the ability to read through the prayers I’ve written for wives and see how to use them to pray for your wife and marriage. I know several couples have read/prayed through Prayers for New Brides together and found it very helpful.

One of the most powerful prayers you can pray for you and your wife is for humility which will increase your dependence on God, your desire to do His Word / follow His path for your marriage. Being unable to respect each other’s opinion /input is a symptom of pride and fear. Invite the Lord to heal you both in those areas. He will WOW you with His answer!

Hi Jennifer, I am divorced from my husband because he came to the us before me, got involved with a woman who helped him through a situation, we share one child .He then brought me to the us , after I came here he divorced me because of this woman ,but he still spends time with me ,but most with her. I still love him ,and since I did nothing to discredit myself as his wife, after watching war room,I want to know if it is too late to ask god to reconcile our marriage .And if it is not too late, please advice scriptures I can use to fight the right way. I need help.

    1. Hi Linsey. Assuming your husband has not remarried, you are certainly right to pray for your marriage to be restored. You can pray through the prayers listed in this article – http://www.jenniferowhite.com/prayers-prevent-divorce/ and look up the Scriptures and let God use them to guide you.

  18. linsey

Thank you so much, the woman is rushing him to get married to her, she already proposed to him 4 times. He eventually said yes after she wrote the proposal on paper, but it was called off because she found out that he was still seeing me. but she is still very much in the picture. He said he is seeking God because he does not want to get married to the wrong person. He used to be a preacher of gods word in his younger life. I have never been unfaithful to him , I did everything I was suppose to do and be as a wife. He apologizes for what he did and is still doing ,but I don’t need his apology, I need my family back together and serving God.

  19. Lee

I ask prayers for our marriage to be restore. And the divorce my husband file to be stop in the Maighty Name of Jesus.

    1. I’m agreeing with you in prayer, Lee. God is able. Nothing is impossible with God.

every young middle old single and married women MUST WATCH WAR ROOM! That all i can say. We have not been properly taught nor mentorerd on how to fight the right way in our relationships. I feel and beleive the WAR ROOM is God’s ultimate guide for winning marriages and relationships. This movie is just PRICELESS. I thank God for the producers of the Movie. I can not even begin to comprehend nor articulate what would have happened to me and my marriage if I did not watch this movie. By the way I took the prayer for the husband and began praying and guess what my husband sent me a message saying “my wife i feel like vommitting and i am not sure why”, he bought me flowers and roses after a long time, he just opened the door for me after a very long time. Is this a coincident after reading the prayer on a daily basis? I dont think so all I know is That God is tired of the Devil messing up marriages through lies and deceit! Enough is Enough. Oh by the way I realised that I my self need extreme help as well have beent too negative but doing all i can to change that and love my husband the way i should. God bless you all and Know that God has you Covered no matter what!

Hi Jennifer, I can’t thank you enough for this. I am a single young man all the way from Nigeria who has had burning desire to pray for people and especially friends who have struggled with sexual sin this was just perfect prayer points as well for their situation. it all blends to perfectly and my war room journal is full from writing such precise prayers. I am trusting God for a married life in the next two years. I am already praying these as a husband!!!

    Thank you!!!

    1. Levi, I am overjoyed at your desire to pray for people. I am thankful to our God for giving this gift of love to you for them. May God pour out extravagant wisdom to you as you pray and as you wait on Him for a wife.

  25. Eneka

My husband and I have been seperated for almost a year. I never knew how to fight with prayer. There was physical violence the day we seperated. He stayed in California, I kept our family plans to move to Arizona. I never believed reconciliation was possible. God has definitely layed it on my heart to fight for my marriage and ultimate healing through Christ. I’ve never been more scared. My husband is currently having an affair. He knows I want to reconcile and heal, and knows I’m praying. She knows this as well and is fighting to keep him. He has a lot of pride, bitterness and unforgivingness in his heart. We have 2 young daughters that are in terrible pain because he still remains apart from us. I know God can heal anything. I also know my husband has to make that choice. He sees everything I say as controlling him. The scariest move ever is realizing I have to give it to God and fight for my husband with open palms instead of closed fists. I know it can’t be me but God. I just want my family to be whole and healed. I’ve already forgiven him. Thank you for this post.

    1. Leah Janzen

Eneka, I read your post and prayed for your marriage and your husband. I am agreeing with you for the saving and healing of your marriage. I am in a similar situation. Love in Christ, ~ Leah

    2. Hi Eneka. I want to encourage you with Ezekiel 36, Psalm 25, 27, and Isaiah 61! God is able!

      1. Esther Moore

        Hi Jennifer O white

Jennifer, my husband and I have been together since 7th grade and married for 17 years. We have three children 18, 17 and 13. My marriage has been through almost everything designed to tear a marriage apart – violence, adultery, jealousy, addiction etc.. you name it we have have fought over it and somehow survived it. Lately, my husband’s anger and addiction to alcohol has become extreme. Knowing my husband since 7th grade my connection and love run deep for him even through it all. My heart remains full of love for him and I do not want to lose my marriage but I’m TIRED and running out of hope and faith. After watching War Room (at my husband’s suggestion) I’m excited about changing that and trying to find my joy and peace. I am not sure to this day where God is leading me but I’m ready to find out. My husband and I are still very young (30s) and we both still have a lot of life left in us but not sure how much fight we have left in us.

does anyone know where i can find the prayer of the end of the war movie when the old lady was praying in her new home and new war room about battle and praying for the whole nation? Thank you for your time and help

    1. Regina

      Here it is.

You’ve done it again, Lord. You’ve done it again. You are good and You are mighty and You are merciful!
And You keep taking care of me when I don’t deserve it.
Praise You, Jesus! You are Lord.
Give me another one, Lord. Guide me to who You want me to help.
Raise up more that will call upon Your name! Raise up those that love You and seek You and trust You!
Raise them up, Lord! Raise them up!
Lord, we need a generation of believers who are not ashamed of the gospel.
We need an army of believers, Lord, that hate to be lukewarm and will stand on Your word above all else.
Raise them up, Lord. Raise them up.
I pray for unity among those that love You. I pray that You open their eyes so that they can see Your truth, Lord.
I pray for Your hand of protection and guidance!
Raise up a generation, Lord, that will take light into this world.
That will not compromise when under pressure! That will not cower, Lord, when others fall away!
Raise them up, Lord, that they will proclaim that there is salvation in the name of Jesus Christ!
Raise up warriors, Lord, who will fight on their knees, who will worship You with their whole hearts, Lord.
Lord, call us to battle, that we may proclaim You King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
I pray these things with all my heart! Raise them up, Lord! Raise them up!

After being in the far country for some time. He told my family he was happy being separated and didn’t know why he got married. It hurt so bad, i reached out to Dr. Alfred on email alfredhealinghome@gmail.com. At first, I wanted to give up but then a contact with Dr. Alfred encouraged me to stand for my marriage. And to cut the whole story short, My husband and I are back together and we are one happy family again

  33. Raquel Jones Manning

Hi Jennifer! I stumbled across your site this morning and was inspired. My husband and I are high school sweethearts. We’ve been together for 11 years, married for 3 years (4 in Feb). We had a troubling 4 years during college (as expected right?) then found out a week before my college graduation, 2 weeks before his that we were expecting our first child. We thought it would be best to keep our family together and that we could continue to work our on relationship and things would turn out for the better. A few days after our first kids 1st bday, he proposed and 2 months later, we got married at the county court house. I would say, since before giving birth to our first child, things have been rocky but has progressively gotten worse. Between his anger issues/fits of rage and controlling behavior and my lack of affection and inability to be dependent, vulnerable and submissive, we’ve had some serious issues. We’ve been close to separation numerous times, got very close to moving on with a divorce once or twice, yet it hasn’t happened. I want my marriage because I love the guy that I fell in love but i’m not sure he’s that guy anymore, i’m just tired of this very unhealthy cycle we’re on, especially because the fighting often times occurs in front of our children. Having two girls, I can’t allow a man to continuously disrespect me, call me out of my name and at times get physical with me. I was very close to moving out just a week ago and I had a friend reach out to me who prayed for me and over me, talked to me about what God has planned for me and my marriage, talked about the War Room and so forth. I know one thing I haven’t tried is taking it to God an I know that’s the only way things are going to improve. I just don’t know where to start.

    Hi Jennifer,
Awesome insight into the Power of Prayer. I am preparing for a Women’s Retreat on “Fervent” prayer by Priscilla Shirer. I asked God how could I speak to Women about prayer when I was struggling in that area myself. Not being consistent and making it a daily priority myself. I asked God how could I talk about Prayer when my marriage of 25 years we recently separated due to infidelity, pornography, sexting, pictures–you name it. I asked God to show me–myself and he did. He showed me that I was full of bitterness, resentment, anger and hatred. WOW! He revealed that it was not about me–it’s ALL ABOUT HIM:) I thank you for your website and your Pro-activeness of praying for your marriage and helping other’s that are married. Whether things are good, great, or bad—All things are possible through Christ.
Thanks for being Fervent and being a Servant of the King
    Shelia

How about a husband praying for his wife?

    1. Regina

Should work. Refer to fire proof, it was the husband trying to save the marriage.

  37. Angie

Hey , can you help me ?? 2weeks ago I found out from my husbands emails that he has been having an affair with women he woks with . She is into new age stuff . My husband of 30 happy and loving years has turned in to a lier and has told me he loves me but is not in love with me . He has pushed our 5 kids away and has not even bothered to see our 2 grandbabys . We have all forgiven him but are angry and very hurt . I moved out to my mums and soon will be living with my youngest son who is 22 . Please teach me how to pray for reconciliation. I love him but know I put him before God . Which I will never do again . My children and I are deverstated . Thank you Angie 🙏🏼

    1. Regina

Mine might not have gotten to that because it’s a relationship I am trying to save but what I have learnt, don’t run away from a situation. Go down on your knees nothing defeats our God. The devil is at work to destroy families don’t give up, unless we go on our knees our families will be ruined. Put yourself together and fight the right battles. Watch war room if you haven’t, it was an eye opener for me. Fire proof could also be a reliable source.

  38. Regina

My relationship of 1 year went down and sources say he is dating someone else. I felt the urge to pray for it and one thing I have learnt is I have been trying to keep it going by my own means instead of handing over the battle to the Lord who knows how well to fight. We work for the same organisation and a few of our friends have worked to separate us him being a very soft person I guess they took advantage of him and appearing to be the easier target and there was discouragement from his mum. I believe all is not gone and we can still make up and live the plans we had made. We had made up our minds on each other. I am praying that he opens up and stop listening to people so much. I have handed over the battle to God to fight for us. I tried talking to a few close friends and all said he lacks commitment and afraid of responsibilities but I believe there is nothing and no situation difficult for God. I am looking upon his word to reunite us.

I don’t have a room to turn into a prayer closet. What can I do

    1. Dinkysgirl

I don’t have a dedicated “place” either. I got a journal type spiral notebook (so I can comfortably write) and set aside the first several pages like a table of contents and then numbered the pages. In my “table of contents” I write the date and topic of prayer strategy and page number where the strategy can be found in the numbered pages. I write out my prayers and sometimes take a picture of them with my phone so I can look at them in free moments wherever I may be. As they are answered I write dates and notes in the margins and “see page …” when I have related Scriptures and information to add.
We’ve had a tough year. My husband lost his job, children have separated from spouses (and since gotten back together), several injuries, parents ill… I’ve been amazed when I look back through my “war room” prayer plan and see how God has sustained us. I also have folders in my phones photo section where I have prayers and verse images of promises.
So my prayer room can be any place with me… on vacation, beach, park, bedroom, car.
Just keep in mind that if you carry it with you, it may get misplaced. Take pictures of pertinent pages, and refrain from writing down everything you may say to God if it would cause problems if read by someone else. You definitely want any situation you may be praying about to warm the heart of the person you are praying for if possible…not infuriate.

Donna, I host a prayer retreat for women, and would like to share your idea with the ladies. Would you allow me to? If you don’t mind, I would give your name. Thanks!

I am in a relationship with a Minister for the first time. I’m excited and I always pray for him, me & us. I love him as my man & look forward to marriage. Listening to gospel music, reading the Bible, Praying & maybe have time to talk on the phone. But of course I talks to my King on earth. So I ask for prayer because a relationship/marriage is not a game & I’ll keep you in prayer. Thanks & God bless.
