Hope from the Truths of God's Word

A Sure Thing

Draw near to God and He will Draw Near to You

Come close to God and God will come close to you. James 4:8

So He returned home to his father. And while He was still a long way off, his father saw Him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him. Luke 15:20

Yes You came when I called. You told me “do not fear.”  Lamentations 3:57

For what great nation has a God as near to them as the Lord our God is near to us whenever we call Him.  Deuteronomy 4:7

I am amazed today at this “daddy” love I have from God. There was a time when I didn’t expect God to love me.  My perception of Him was distorted. But as I have cried out to Him in desperation, He has been faithful to answer my cries with His help. And thankfully, the Words He wrote to me and you are now more believable.  I know He loves me. And tomorrow I plan to know it even more.

One of my goals this month has been to memorize the verses below.  I pray them. And I believe I am growing in an awareness of His love for me because of it.

Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.  Ephesians 3:17-19

His love inspires me to love Him back. I am more at peace than ever before. I am at peace knowing that when He sees me coming, He runs to meet me with His loving embrace! His love for me is a sure thing!

How are you inspired by His love for you? Have you struggled with accepting Him as a loving God?
