Prayerfully Speaking

Hope from the Truths of God's Word

About Me

We Love to Dance!

I’m Jennifer O. White and I live in West Monroe, Louisiana with David, my husband of 18 years. We also call Branson, Missouri home.

We have both been married before and have experienced the incredible power of God to heal us and transform our marriage into more than either of us imagined it could be. God used a biblical Christian counselor, Beth Moore Bible Studies, and the teaching of Dr. Gary Smalley to save us from ourselves. The theme of our healed and thriving marriage is learning and obeying the Word of God.

We do not have children together, but we enjoy loving David’s adult children, Lance and Deanna. In 2012, we welcomed our daughter-in-love, Chelse to the family. Thanks to Chelse and Lance we are proud grandparents of sweet Kennedy Jean.

Although I am not an “official mother,” I grateful for the role of spiritually mothering younger ladies. God has greatly expanded my territory for spiritual mothering and mentoring with the release of Prayers for New Brides: Putting on God’s Armor After the Wedding Dress.

Dave and Jen White's Family 2012

I am grateful to have a bachelors degree in Social Work, a minor in marketing, the spiritual gifts of mercy and shepherding, and a passion to help others explore who God is and what He can do through praying His Word. I find God uses me as a connector in the Kingdom of God. I really enjoy connecting the life-giving passages of the Bible to the needs of His people. And I cherish the opportunities to bring people to people, ministries and resources.

Since childhood, I have been teaching. I started by teaching my dolls and later my little brother who endured many playtime hours in a desk in front of a green chalkboard easel. As an adult, I have taught Sunday School classes, small groups, women’s Bible studies in person and online. Today I teach here at and PrayersforNewBrides/Blog about pursuing a relationship with God through prayer.

My friends at The Imperfect Wives ministry gave me the opportunity to share my marriage testimony; Pray the Word. I would love to share it with you and your friends. Here’s the link to the audio recording. You can also hear a portion of Prayers for New Brides in this interview; Stand! Your Posture in Spiritual Warfare.

Random Things About Me:

More than anything, I want people to experience the love of Jesus Christ. I want to reflect His delight and mercy in everything I do.

My life verses are Ephesians 3:20 and Romans 8:6. I want people to see God do more than what they think is possible in this world.

I am rural girl to the core! Dad was a farmer, then a nurseryman in Central Louisiana. Dirt doesn’t bother this girl … well, except for my allergies. (sniff….) I’m asking God to allow my body to enjoy nature instead of reject it. Help.Me.Lord!

I am an intercessor. And I love to read the scriptures and discover prayers within them. I lead the prayer ministry at our Branson, Missouri church and I love being in the prayer room at First West.

I’m a hugger. So if we meet, you should tell me quickly if you don’t want me invading your personal space.

I’m a hopeless creative. You’ll find me in the kitchen trying new recipes and turning an old one into my own creation. I really cant’ help it. My grandmother taught home economics for over 30 years. My mom was a home ec. major and is a true southern hostess! If you must know, I won the Yam Cooking contest in high school. 🙂 You can find great recipes I share here.

God has relentlessly loved and pursued me. It’s taken more years than I’d like to admit for me to accept His love. Thankfully, today I believe that I am loved by the Creator of all things beautiful!  By the way, I’m thrilled to experience God’s love via my sweet husband, David White!

I’m one of the least athletically inclined people you’ll ever meet. I do wear LSU purple and gold on occasion, but mostly because it pleases my husband for me to try to like football.

a lsu family

I would love for you to meet my amazing family and friends. There are too many to list here, but if you follow me on Facebook, you’ll quickly learn who they are and see why I love them so!

I love to learn. I love to read, to listen, to write, and share the “aha’s” God reveals to me here on the blog, in person, and now in books.

Regardless of what you find on these pages, I hope you will leave here thinking deeper and wider on the subject of God’s love for you, those you love, and those who get on your last nerve.  Ephesians 3:18.

  • I’m looking forward to being regularly inspired by your wisdom, insight and humor! I’m also soooooo thankful that you’re delving into the intricacies of social media so I don’t have to get swamped by it 🙂 – really excited to continue learning from you!

  • Hi, nice to meet you !

  • As one who taught her dutiful dolls and indulgent brother, you might enjoy this story about my granddaughter teaching her stuffed animals to read backwards.

    • Margaret, what a fantastic teacher she is! I love her creativity and confidence.

  • Malia Davis

So very glad and feeling blessed to have found your site!!

  • Lesa Larsen

Jennifer a dear sweet girl that I mentored has asked me to read scripture at her wedding. I want to do something other than the usual “Love” from Corinthians verses. I have some other ideas but wanted to see what you might recommend that would fit the whole marriage beginning. I plan on giving her your book.

    • Lesa, I am terribly sorry for not responding to this message. I’ve just found it. I trust the Lord gave you the perfect Scripture for them. What did you choose?

  • Jessie Lewis

Hi. I was wondering if you have interceded for hopelessly lost people and they have been saved?? Can your prayers save me? I don’t believe in God and don’t want to, but I am probably wrong and so I was just wondering if you have that power?

    • Hello Jessie. I am glad to meet you here and appreciate your honesty. I have prayed for many desperate people and witnessed change in their mindset, emotions, and bodies within moments, hours, or days. However, the power comes from God. With my prayers, I’m simply inviting His power to meet the present need.

Today, I invite the Almighty God to meet the deep needs of your soul. I ask Him to spark your interest in His love. I pray that you will experience the extravagance of His love for you. I pray that His light would shine on the darkness of your life and reveal the truth to you.

In Jesus’ name, I resist the doubts, fears, and apathy you feel toward God today. I say to your spirit, Wake Up to God and clothe yourself with His strength.

I pray that God would help you say “Yes” to His invitation to restore you to wholeness. I pray that the eyes of your heart would be enlightened now to the rich and satisfying life Jesus wants you to have.

I thank Jesus for dying for you so that you could live in the presence of God without fear or shame. I thank Jesus for being so incredibly merciful to you and offering you the blessings of heaven that only He deserves.

I thank God for delighting in you every day of your life and choosing you to be His daughter. I rise up in the name of Jesus and forbid thoughts of rejection and abandonment to plague your mind anymore.

May God help you to experience the desire to reach for Him every day of your life ahead. May God grant you the joy and peace that you’ve lacked to this point. May you know God as gentle and kind and patient. May all the ashes in your life be transformed into something beautiful by His incredible power.
