Offer God’s Strength in Times of Weakness
A Good Assumption
Why not start each day assuming the people we encounter have one or more weaknesses – just like you and me? Know that your husband/wife, parent, pastor, in-law, and the next sales person you encounter struggles with feeling less than enough for what they are facing.
How could we bless them? How can we, in our own weaknesses, be used by God to meet their needs?
Throughout the Bible, we are promised that God is ENOUGH. He is – all wise, all powerful, and always present. He is greater than any human and every evil force. He has unlimited strength!
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses,
so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9
With hearts that recognize our limits and God’s capacity, you and I can humbly:
- Assume there is a weakness
- Trust that God wants to fill in the gap between the weakness and what is required
- Acknowledge that in Christ, a believer is blessed with every spiritual blessing (Eph. 1:3)
- Intercede by declaring the Truth of God’s strength to the one in need
- Believe that God’s Word always produces fruit and accomplishes It’s purpose. (Isa. 55:11)
Speaking the truth of God’s love, favor, and sufficiency to another person is a gift of life breathed into their soul. Just like you, their doubts and fears are causing thoughts and debilitating words to flood their minds. Your spoken blessing of God’s Truth is mighty weapon in a very real spiritual warfare. (Eph. 6:17)
Declare the Truth in Faith
Just as God spoke the world into place, in Christ each of us has the authority to speak a God-willed reality into existence. If that is hard to believe, ask God to reveal His Truth about it to you.
Use these simple and God-power filled, one-sentence blessings of strength. Speak them over anyone and especially someone struggling with an energy-depleting situation.
God’s Spirit in you is at work right now giving you inner strength (Eph. 3:16)
You are strong because you are established in God’s love like a tree with deep roots. (Eph. 3:17)
The God of endless energy and concern for your every need is renewing your strength. (Isa. 40:28-31)
The victorious God is helping you, holding you up, and giving you strength. (Isa. 41:10)
The Lord is your strength. He is empowering your mind, emotions, and body. (Ex. 15:2, Phil. 4:13)
Speak one or all of these over yourself or someone that the Lord just brought to your mind. You can also email, text or tweet them.
If you speak blessings over people already, please share about them with us in the comments below.
