The Faith of this Child

Introducing my nephew, Samuel.  In the last five years, his big faith has wowed me.

Conversations and Quotes with Samuel:

AGE 5
Aunt Jen: Samuel, you are reading so well. You are learning so much at pre-school.
Samuel: I didn’t learn to read at pre-school, Aunt Jen
Aunt Jen: Well, I know your mom has been teaching you alot at home too.
Samuel: No, God made me this smart, Aunt Jen.

AGE 4
Samuel’s Mom: Samuel, who are you listening to in those headphones you’ve plugged into the curtains?
Samuel: God and the people in Heaven.

AGE 3
Samuel: I don’t want to go to Vacation Bible School, Mom.
Samuel’s Mom: (Calls Samuel’s dad so he can encourage Samuel and pray that he will enjoy VBS)
Samuel: Don’t pray for me Daddy
Samuel’s Dad: Why don’t you want me to pray for you?
Samuel: Because it will work, and I don’t want to enjoy Vacation Bible School!

Samuel is sure of God’s power and eagerness to communicate with him. Thank you Samuel, for being a living example of Faith for the grown ups.

Whoever becomes simple and elemental again, like this child, will rank high in God’s kingdom.

About Jennifer O. White

I'm a simple wife who has discovered God's amazing gift of prayer. Here at Prayerfully Speaking I share my journey of unwrapping this gift. God invites us to ask Him, but His enemy works diligently to keep that from happening. I hope to offer you encouragement to believe God is ready to pour more into your life than you've ever imaged.
