Hope from the Truths of God's Word

join her on the the walk to freedom

Because of His love, Jesus walked me into a life of freedom from tormenting anxiety, dread, overthinking, zero boundaries and a lack of love for myself. One day not so long ago, I cried out to Jesus for help. And day by day, He gave me a new slice of freedom from the many things that had created a boulder in the road of my life.

One day I read in a Beth Moore Bible study that peace was the result of obedience. She referenced Isaiah 32:17, “and this righteousness will bring peace. It will bring quietness and confidence forever.” Whoa Nellie – that information was a steriod shot to my soul. I was lacking all four: righteousness, peace, quietness and confidence.  I have never been the same. Those four words are now more likely to be used to describe me. But not to my credit. Only because God loved me so much that He gave me another chance to choose life, to choose Him and His way of the life.

The ladies at Table Rock Freedom Center have committed twelve months of their life to grasp the freedom in Christ I now understand and enjoy. Each of them is walking away from lies that devastated their lives and families. Sadly most of them have experienced addictions as well as sexual abuse. But all of them are becoming new again.  One by one, they lay down their own will, submit to “simple obedience” to the program, to God.

It’s exciting for me to watch their transformations. Sundi J0 has lost over 100 lbs, has a healthy relationship with her mother, has grieved her abuse, the death of her father, and now processes her feelings instead of stuffing them. Shelley has overcome great mental anguish, addiction, and in the meantime she’s lost over 100 lbs. She’s and Sundi Jo have completed the program and work for TRFC modeling freedom for their sisters in Christ. Leah is free from drugs and learning to follow God and trust that He will reward her obedience. She has a little girl waiting for her to complete the program. That sweet young 8 year old has said she is happy to be getting the mom she’s always wanted.

There are more women experiencing great transformation, redemption because of God’s word applied at TRFC. I’ll share their stories with you in the future.

I have a request of you.

Would you please pray for the ladies who are submitting to God in this program? Pray for the staff and board of directors. Pray for the volunteers and donors. Many of these ladies can not afford to pay the monthly program fee and require scholarships.  I have this crazy idea that through our social media connections to other believers in Jesus, we can make a God-sized difference in their lives.

What if each one of us gave just $1 to the program each month and invited our friends to do the same. PayPal is set up on their site to make donating easy. It would be so simple to blog, post on facebook or tweet about freedom in Christ, the Table Rock Freedom Center program once a month. It would be such a small thing to ask someone to give just one dollar.

Could we fund an entire scholarship for a sister in Christ, $500? two sisters, $1500, even three, $1500?  I feel like those numbers are small when I consider the power of God at work in our connections online. What do you think?

Here are a few ways to invite your friends to help:

  • Donate your dollar thru PayPal here! or feel free to send a check to P.O. Box 2423 Branson West, MO 65737. Then invite your pals to do the same.
  • On Fridays, “Freedom Fridays”, join me in changing our facebook, twitter and linked in profile pictures to the red badge so we can generate participation.
  • Place a  badge on your blog or website to announce the opportunity to help. You can grab the code for the badge here (coming soon).
  • Send an email or a facebook message to those who love to serve!
  • Check out their list of needs here and see if there is something you have that they need.
  • Connect with the program on their website, facebook and twitter.
  • Connect with Kim Sanders-Manees, the director.
  • Meet Sundi Jo, my dear friend and intern at the center.

Please ask me questions about the program. Send me feedback on the idea to fund a scholarship or scholarship(s).

P.S. “Freedom Fridays” is a blog campaign started by my friend Lyn Smith. Lyn passionately teaches God’s word online and in person. She’s a dear friend of Table Rock Freedom Center.

About Jennifer O. White

I’m a simple wife who has discovered God’s amazing gift of prayer. Here at Prayerfully Speaking I share my journey of unwrapping this gift. God invites us to ask Him, but His enemy works diligently to keep that from happening. I hope to offer you encouragement to believe God is ready to pour more into your life than you’ve ever imaged.
