Minding My Business: August ’11 Goals

Time to set my August 3 in 30 goals. I really appreciate the 3 in 30 concept. Having a limit of 3 works well for me. I can of course accomplish more, but without all the guilt and frustration with myself.  This is ALMOST as brilliant as the special “sizing” offered at Chico’s. Genius!!

July 2011 #3n30 report: 80% success rate on completing two of the three goals I set for July.

I’m really pretty happy with that. In the past, follow-thru on goals has been an ISSUE. I had two amazing friends hold me accountable to emailing them my personal answers to the five 4:8 Principle Questions each day. The questions are from the book, the 4:8 Principle – The Secret to a Joy-Filled Life. Answering them each day helped change my focus and set my mind on the good in myself and my situation. I’m beyond grateful for the increase in joy I am experiencing today.

Being creative on a project outside of work one time a week seems to be healing the “burnt out” crispy edges of Jen. Planning my days in advance is still a struggle for me. I did much better planning the day of, but not so good planning in advance.

I am eager to keep all three July goals in my August routine. And to them, I’m adding the following:

1. Posting a blog  each day in August.
2. Walking at least 4 miles a week on the treadmill while listening to an audio book.
3. Planning my days at least one day in advance and visualizing accomplishing the tasks.

Make it your goal to live a quiet life,
minding your own business and working with your hands,

just as we instructed you before.  1 Thessalonians 4:11

Your prayers, accountability, and encouragement are welcomed!

What do you hope to accomplish by the end of August 2011?

About Jennifer O. White

I’m a simple wife who has discovered God’s amazing gift of prayer. Here at Prayerfully Speaking I share my journey of unwrapping this gift. God invites us to ask Him, but His enemy works diligently to keep that from happening. I hope to offer you encouragement to believe God is ready to pour more into your life than you’ve ever imaged.
