Hope from the Truths of God's Word

One Big Thought Collision

In the last few weeks, I’ve been given three powerful thoughts. The results – ONE BIG THOUGHT COLLISION.

Number 1

I’m still reading Radical : Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream by David Platt.  The book is so rich. If I were highlighting and underlining, very little would remain unmarked. This passage on page 70 is BIG thinking,

…  The message of Christianity is not “God loves me” period. As if we are the object of our own faith. The message of Biblical Christianity is “God loves me so that I might make him – his ways, his salvation, his glory, and his greatness – known among all nations.”  Now God is the object of our faith, and Christianity centers around Him. We are not the end of the gospel. He is.

Number 2

Ronnie Floyd author of  10 Things Every Minister Needs to Know writes, “Pray about initiating, developing, nurturing and maintaining influential relationships that have the potential to move the gospel.”  WOW! I can do that.

Number 3

Gary Clark of Hillsong delivered a very encouraging message during C3 2011. He helped us all realize that wanting those we lead to be faithful to the vision we cast can be difficult to achieve and sustain.  TRUE!  Instead, he recommended that we teach those we influence to be faithful, loyal and responsible people.

This made GOOD sense to me.  You?

golden eggThe BIG BENEFIT here is two fold. The people you lead will have amazing Christ-like character that will enable them to be loyal to the vision you cast. And here is the BIG BONUS. Your circle of influence just developed outstanding family members and community leaders. The blood sweat and possibly tears you invested will now bear the image of Jesus and carry His beautiful message to places we can only imagine.

I’m amazed! Amazed that over the course of a few weeks, God revealed to me these three incredible thoughts on influence, leadership and the great commission. The result:

  • I am loved by GOD and received His unlimited resources for the purpose of making GOD famous to as many more people as possible.
  • God will use me to speak His truth others who will take His message where I may never go. I need to invite Him to deliver those people into my life for this purpose.
  • Those to whom I model and mentor loyal and trustworthy His character will be sought out as employees and leaders who will go further with the gospel than Jennifer White can ever travel.

I am INSPIRED! I now know what to do and I am not overwhelmed by the BIG CALL of going to all the nations. I may not make it to every corner of every nation, but I can invest in others who will. And you can too!

About Jennifer O. White

I’m a simple wife who has discovered God’s amazing gift of prayer. Here at Prayerfully Speaking I share my journey of unwrapping this gift. God invites us to ask Him, but His enemy works diligently to keep that from happening. I hope to offer you encouragement to believe God is ready to pour more into your life than you’ve ever imaged.

Wow! That really makes sense! It’s exciting and like Sundi Jo, thanks for investing your time and prayers in me. I’m not going out to all nations, but I know God has a plan for me even at my age. Thanks!
