a Simple Prayer for Hillary Clinton
Update: Please know that I am not discussing politics in this post. I am relaying a way to pray. Later in the post you will see why I am highlighting Hillary Clinton in this prayer. I am not showing any favor for her as a candidate or suggesting we pray for her and not pray for Donald Trump. This is not about who she is today or her record. It is not about me or you. It’s about God. By all means, pray this prayer and others for all governmental officials and candidates.
Over the last few weeks, the Lord has been bringing my attention to this verse:
Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 1 Timothy 2:2
Three different teachers I greatly respect have pointed out the obvious in this verse: Peaceful living comes as a result of praying for our government. You might read that and feel a bit skeptical. That was my first response. However, if we believe the Word of God, we have to to believe this is true. God lays out a cause and effect very clearly for us.
I’m So Guilty of not praying about governmental issues. To be honest I haven’t prayed because of an underlying thought that my prayers would be pointless. That my friends is evidence of an ugly stronghold called unbelief. Some say that the spirit of unbelief is the spirit that seeks to control North America – a territorial spirit. Do you see evidence of that as well?
Our amazing God sometimes speaks to me in visions. With visions, He communicates something that He wants me to pray about. This is a fascinating thing that I do not often talk about in my writing, because it is usually very personal. And to be honest, I’ve been a little unsure of how you would judge the reality of my hearing from God that way. But I’m over it now. (grin)
Tuesday, during a time of worship with my Bible study sisters, God showed me His great love for Hillary Clinton. I saw a vision of Him bending down toward her, holding her face in His tender hands, and breathing His life into her. Isn’t that just beautiful! What an amazing picture of His love and His power.
God is the Breath of Life!
“The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Job 33:4
Thus says God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people on it And spirit to those who walk in it, Isaiah 42:5
‘I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the LORD.'” Ezekiel 37:6
This vision came a day after much ado about Hillary’s pneumonia. We can assume that our Jehovah Rapha, the Healer, desires to make her physically well. It is likely that this breathing life into her addresses more than her physical health. Just imagine for a minute what His life-giving, resurrecting breath can accomplish. He can do far more than our imaginations!
I believe this is how God wants us to pray for Hillary Clinton. He has painted a picture of it so that we can simply say, Yes Lord, let it be so! I’m inviting you to pray this with me for Hillary because where two of us agree together on what we ask of God, He promises to do it.
Lord, we ask You to breathe Your life into every part of Hillary Clinton’s mind, body, soul and spirit. Where she is weak, Lord, make her strong. May she be a ready recipient of everything You desire to give her. In Jesus we pray. Amen
Let’s build up our faith together. Let’s choose to believe that nothing is impossible for our God and let’s act on that mustard seed of faith. He promises that mountains will be moved when we do. Our prayers precede the peaceful and quiet lives God desires for us. This peace could mean that we are able to worship freely and share the name of Jesus without hindrance.
This simple prayer is a righteous choice and thankfully our righteousness (a gift from Jesus Christ) also precedes peace and confident living:
And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever. Isaiah 32:17
Pray for Your Enemies
Please take a moment to read through Luke 6:27-36 as a reminder of God’s call to pray for our enemies.
“But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. …“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate. Luke 6:27-28, 35-36

I'm a simple wife who has discovered God's amazing gift of prayer. Here at Prayerfully Speaking I share my journey of unwrapping this gift. God invites us to ask Him, but His enemy works diligently to keep that from happening. I hope to offer you encouragement to believe God is ready to pour more into your life than you've ever imaged.
