Simple Prayers for Times of Financial Stress
Are you in a financial crisis or know someone who is? These simple, Scriptural prayers can help you focus on the One who has promised to be your Provider.
God is the source of every good gift. The entire universe belongs to Him. He offers to strengthen us with His unlimited resources. He withholds no good thing from those who do what is right. (James 1:17, Psalm 24:1, Ephesians 3:16, Psalm 84:10
I pray that God uses these prayers and this time of waiting on Him to grow Your faith in Him as your very present help in times of need.
You are the Almighty God who provides, and I choose to put my hope in You.
Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the LORD will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.” Genesis 22:14
Your love for me is unfailing. Your power and resources are unlimited. I trust that You will move heaven and earth to take care of me.
But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. Psalm 59:16
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Ephesians 3:16
God, I believe You will use this trial to show me and others how You are able to transform the ashes of life into something beautiful.
To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory. Isaiah 61:3
Thank You, Lord, for being my Shepherd who leads me to the provisions and employment You have prepared for me.
The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. Psalm 23:1
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27
Thank You, God, for providing me with strength and courage to face uncertain days without fear.

God, I am in great need of employment and steady income. Help me find a job where I can use the talents and personality that You have given me.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10
Help me, God, to have a calm and quiet spirit while I wait patiently for Your help.
Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Psalm 37:7a
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. John 14:11
Help me, God, not to fear but to focus You. Help me to think and talk about what is right, admirable, and worthy of praise.
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3
Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8
