Praying the Scriptures – Agreeing with God

Last night I enjoyed time alone with God and without my computer. I found my little notebook of prayers and began to review them. They feel like old friends to me. I want to share a few of them with you.

Father, I give attention to Your words and incline my ear to Your sayings. I will not let them depart from my sight, but I will keep them in the midst of my heart, for they are life and health to my whole body. reference -Proverbs 4:21-22

These are scriptural affirmations. I treasure these, because as I say them outloud I am agreeing with the will of God for my life.

I hear the voice fo the Good Shepherd. I hear my Father’s voice and the voice of a stranger, I will not follow. I roll my works upon the Lord. I commit and trust them wholly to Him. He will cause my thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and so shall my plans be established and succeed.  – references: John 10:27 & Proverbs 16:3

I have the mind of Christ and I hold the thoughts, feelings and purposes of His heart. reference – 1 Corinthians 2:16

I am chosen by You, my Father. – Ephesians 1:4

I am redeemed through the blood of Jesus.– Ephesians 1:7

I am Your workmanship.  – Ephesians 2:10

I am a partaker of Your promises in Christ. –  2 Peter 1:4

I am strengthened with might by Your Spirit – Ephesians 3:16

I am rooted and grounded in love. Ephesians 3:17

I speak the truth in love. Ephesians 4:15

I hope this will inspire you to search the Words of God to find the passages that speak to your situation. Write them as a prayer and let your heart agree with the only Wise King we can trust for direction, wisdom and help.
