God is Trustworthy – Psalm 37:5
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in Him, and He will act. Psalm 37:5
Thank You, LORD, for Your Word that shows me how to live Your way. Thank You for the power of Your Word to cut through the confusion and cause what is right to be clear. (Hebrews 4:12) Your Word lights my way. (Psalm 119:105)
Thank you for Your Holy Spirit Who teaches me, reminds me, and empowers me to choose Your Way.
Thank You Jesus for interceding on my behalf so that I, being prone to selfishness, can be strengthened to a life of devotion to You.
You have shown me through this verse the important progression of first committing, then trusting, and finally Your response. I have an active role in this relationship with You. You expect me to commit to follow You, the invisible You. You expect me to trust that You are going to act on my behalf for Your good purposes.
Examples of Commitment to God’s Ways
Thank You for teaching us how to commit to You and trust You. You led Moses and Your people to cross through a sea that you parted as the Egyptians in chariots chased them. Moses had to be committed. He had to trust You.
And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” Exodus 14:13-14
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. Exodus 14:21-22
God, You are amazingly powerful and full of surprises. I choose to live in anticipation of the incredible ways You will act on my behalf. And as You do, my life will be wildly successful for the hallowing of Your name.
God is Trustworthy! God Accomplishes!
I will wait and see the salvation of the Lord.
Besides Moses, who has God used to teach you to commit, trust and wait for Him to act?
