Recalling God’s Faithfulness

Your faithfulness continues through all generations – Psalm 119:90

I am inspired today to go on a treasure hunt to learn how God has been faithful to the generations before me.  Regarding my heritage, I want to celebrate …whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8)

I’m looking forward to uncovering God’s faithfulness one hundred years before I was born and celebrating how he has used that to bless me. I plan to ask my parents and my grandmother questions that will lead to them praising God for what He has done for each of us.  We certainly have not had a perfect family. As an adult, I am aware of many more problems and crisis situations that have taken place. BUT GOD – has been with us and for us. He’s redeemed divorces, broken friendships, broken hearts, and empty bank accounts.

Because we are human, we have certainly failed ourselves, each other, and certainly we’ve failed God. But He has remained faithful to us. His goodness and mercy have followed us all the days of our lives. He has forgiven more than the stock market has gained and lost.

Today I will focus on Him and His faithfulness. I am joyful just knowing I will find that His hand has been directing us,  covering us, and comforting us.  I look forward to sharing what I learn with you and I challenge you to this same treasure hunt in your own family.   1. Love that you’re going to do this. How has he shown faithfulness in my family? By bringing the darkness of sexual abuse throughout the generations to light.

    I am celebrating that with you and I know He has been at work in your lives to bring you to Him. The fact that you and your mom lived through that accident and so many other things! He’s faithful!
