Hope from the Truths of God's Word

Receiving the “AHA”

For when I am to you more precious than all else;

when i have become more real to you than all else;

and when you love Me more than you love any other,

then shall you know complete satisfaction.

Your peace shall flow as a river,

and your joy shall overflow as a fountain,

and My glory shall be poured out as the fragrant anointing oil

upon all  your other relationships.

This is taken from “Center to Circumference”, a devotion within the book – Come Away My Beloved by Frances J. Roberts (my all time favorite devotional book).   I’ve been on this 4 page devotion within the book for a few weeks and not for the first time. I decided to share it with you today because it is resonating with scriptures that are in the forefront of my mind.

“Seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well. ( Matthew 6:33 NCV)  During small group, my friend Julie reported that she was changing the way she prayed for her children. She had stopped praying for them to find jobs. Now, she’s praying Matthew 6:33 over them – that each of them would seek God and what He wants first.  She trusts God and His word and knows that He will provide all they need when they are seeking Him.

I’m also reading the book, The 4:8 Principle – The Secret to a Joy-Filled Life by Tommy Newberry.  The 4:8 refers to Philippians 4:8. Early in the book, the author mentions:Always be joyful.  Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians  5:16-18 (NLT)  And the “aha” happened for me.

Focus on God! Focus on GOD, Jennifer!

Seek Him First – and then….

Know Him – and your joy will be overflowing in all things – no matter what.

Pray to Him – ask for help, ask for wisdom, ask for His perspective, ask for His will to be done.

Give thanks! – because you KNOW you can TRUST Him. You know that He is for you. You “get” that you are not enough, but He is!

Do you find yourself letting your focus slip off God and onto yourself? I sure do.  Thanks to GOD for helping me understand His will for me. (see end of 1 Thes 5:18) And the provision of God for my life – all these things will be added.  When I am focused on Him, I can relax. He’s got the power. He’s got the answers. And He has always loved me and been faithful to me. Whew! I believe God is serving me wisdom and understanding, aka “AHA”.

I’m determined to live Matthew 6:33 and 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.  And I am learning that I am unable to do so without the power of the Spirit of God in me.  Please pray for me to live out this truth. I will pray the same for you.

About Jennifer O. White

I’m a simple wife who has discovered God’s amazing gift of prayer. Here at Prayerfully Speaking I share my journey of unwrapping this gift. God invites us to ask Him, but His enemy works diligently to keep that from happening. I hope to offer you encouragement to believe God is ready to pour more into your life than you’ve ever imaged.
