Seeking God and Finding Him
The Bible encourages us to seek the Lord because He wants to be found! He wants us to connect with Him and His way. He knows that as we experience Him, we will be satisfied by Him.
Matthew 6:33 – But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 7:7-8 – “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
Proverbs 8:17 – I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.
We connect with:
- His Strength and we can exhale because suddenly our weaknesses don’t define us.
- His Wisdom and suddenly we can think some of His brilliant thoughts which help us succeed in relationships and in business.
- His Guidance and we are delivered from evil. We are meeting the people He will use to encourage us, mentor us, make us well, and so much more.
- His Sufficient Supply and we can cancel our subscription to Worry Magazine.
- and SO much more goodness!
Adoring Him is a natural part of the process of learning Who we are connected to. We can take our time to hold up one simple but magnificent aspect of His nature and marvel at the fact that we are in an intimate relationship with this level of goodness! We can study His generosity, lean into Him with a thankful heart and whisper “Wow!” and “Thank You!” and “Help me to know more about Your generosity towards me.” This perpetuates the seeking Him and finding Him which will lead to great joy and peace!
Last week, I shared how He lead me to connect with His wisdom which delights in each one of us and those we encounter. What part of His nature are you wanting to connect with today? Let me encourage you, the simple and heartfelt “Help me” prayers are enough.
My incredibly talented friend, Carolyn Hill who sings and blogs, has recorded this video where she leads us in worship. The song, The More I Seek Him, is a simple prayer letting God know we want to discover more of Him. (Inbox readers, click here for the video).
Lamentations 3:25 – The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.
May God fuel our passion to seek Him and know Him!

I'm a simple wife who has discovered God's amazing gift of prayer. Here at Prayerfully Speaking I share my journey of unwrapping this gift. God invites us to ask Him, but His enemy works diligently to keep that from happening. I hope to offer you encouragement to believe God is ready to pour more into your life than you've ever imaged.
