Sewing: Old Things Become New Again

Pinterest has inspired me to get back to sewing. Just a few minutes on that site has my creativity roaring. I saw this satchel

and knew that Miss Sundi Jo Graham would love it. Goodwill didn’t have the right color pants, but this green corduroy jacket caught my eye. I was so excited to start the project, I forgot to take the picture before I started cutting it apart. It was a $3.00 Jones New York ladies zippered jacket.

So I began to design and cut ….. and yes – I think better in my yoga pants and cowboy hat!

Well, my #3n30 goal was to finish the satchel in September. The last stitch came a few days later. But I loved giving it to her and knowing that she would enjoy it.

Thanks to Diana Bogardus for helping the satchel look cool with her amazing photography.

As you can see we enjoyed a few laughs after the presentation of the “Goodwill Jacket” now “Handmade with Love Sundi Jo Satchel”. And within 5 minutes, I backed out of my driveway and crashed into her car with my truck. Thankfully only metal, plastic, rubber and my pride were injured. We did not let it steal our joy.

The end of this story…….. and the beginning of the life of one cute satchel.

  2. You did great. I love the satchel. Also love your hat. It’s so “Nashville” even with yoga pants.

I just started digging around on Pinterest. Hope it inspires me, too.
