Surrendering Our Weakness, Choosing His Strength
Timidity is something I’d like to live without. Today’s post is a simple prayer about it. I pray it sparks more conversations between you and God. Feel free to add your own prayers and Scripture references in the comments. Let’s encourage each other in the Word.
God, I am very weak. You know my weak thoughts and my timid decisions. I am so sorry for making decisions as if You are not with me to help to make me strong.
Wherever the root of this fearfulness and insecurity lies, I ask You to take Your axe to it. Disconnect me from this worldly way of thinking that fails to build Your kingdom.
I want to wake up and clothe myself with Your strength!
Grant me the faith of Elijah who dared to challenge the idol worshippers and their idols.
Grant me the faith of Elisha who prayed for the Shunnamite woman to have a son.
Grant me the courage of Peter who dared to walk on water.
Grant me the tenacity of Paul who returned to preach the gospel after being beaten and thrown out of the city.
Let Your Spirit lead me to a new, brave life of relying on You for everything needed reveal the resurrection power of Jesus to the world around me. I choose a life that is free from fear and timidity in Jesus’ name. Amen
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Isaiah 40:29
Even now the ax of God’s judgment is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire. Matthew 3:10
Wake up, wake up, O Zion! Clothe yourself with strength. Put on your beautiful clothes, O holy city of Jerusalem, for unclean and godless people will enter your gates no longer. Isaiah 52:1
For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17
