The Lights of Christmas

Christmas lights done right are stunning. Think about the sounds you made the last time you saw a beautiful display.

On the drive home from work, I enjoy this sweet simple display and in my heart I hear these lyrics from the song Let the Church Rise by Johnathon Stockstill:

“Let us be light in the darkness, Let the Church rise”

Isn’t that amazing? His light in each of us has real power. Jesus’ light shining through us is a delight to the souls of those who need Him.

Thankfully, His light in others has:

  • warmed our souls
  • led us to know real love and acceptance
  • given us the first knowing of being safe with someone
  • directed us away from destructive habits and thoughts
  • spoken truth in love
  • forgiven our mistakes
  • remained faithful regardless of our failures

And we are commissioned to carry the light-giving Message into the night……Philippians 2:14-16

I’m recalling those who have done this for me. They have been used to save me from the dark night of the soul.  And I am encouraged to know that He has used me in a few lives too.

What about you? How has Jesus been the light in your world through others? Would it encourage them to know His light in them was an “ahh” to your soul?

light your world!

I’m a simple wife who has discovered God’s amazing gift of prayer. Here at Prayerfully Speaking I share my journey of unwrapping this gift. God invites us to ask Him, but His enemy works diligently to keep that from happening. I hope to offer you encouragement to believe God is ready to pour more into your life than you’ve ever imaged.

  1. I love the emphasis on light at Christmas time, especially since the source of all light is The Light. Thanks for posting such beautiful thoughts. His light in you is definitely an “ahh” to my soul.
