Prayerfully Speaking

Hope from the Truths of God's Word

Unexpected Displays of Love

I experienced a first last week. At least four of my close friends asked me if I was OK.  Several of them let me know that the Spirit of God had moved them to pray for me. One told me her heart was heavy for me and asked how she could pray. Another one cried and dropped to her knees to pray for me then told me about it later. Yet another one told me as she prayed for me she felt a strong sense of something big happening in my life.

To be honest, I was a little freaked out by all of that.  God has prepared me for BIG, traumatic things before. So all of this “prompting of prayer for Jennifer” had me a little nervous.

But at the same time, I felt genuinely loved. Loved by God and these amazing women he put in my life. He moved at least four women to sincere prayer for my well being. I have no idea what was avoided in my life because of this spiritual intervention. I could possibly have an inkling of the spiritual fight that was taking place. For now, I’m satisfied to KNOW that He loves me and has chosen to show me in this monumental way.

Does knowing someone is praying for you help you to experience His love for you?  Do you always tell someone you’ve been compelled to pray for them? I’m still learning about intercession and I would love to learn from your experiences.

About Jennifer O. White

I’m a simple wife who has discovered God’s amazing gift of prayer. Here at Prayerfully Speaking I share my journey of unwrapping this gift. God invites us to ask Him, but His enemy works diligently to keep that from happening. I hope to offer you encouragement to believe God is ready to pour more into your life than you’ve ever imaged.

  1. His love for me shines through you all the time!

  2. Just reading this was powerful to me! I LOVE to hear when others are praying for me. It gives me a sense of peace and genuine trust that “God is watching over me.” I do a lot of praying for others, but I’m not so good at always letting them know. After reading this, I’m more determined than ever to share with those who are in my prayers as a means of strengthening them and letting them know that God is right there with them. I love the phrase “I don’t know what was avoided in my life because of this spiritual intervention.” WOW! That is definitely a powerful statement! Thanks so much for sharing!

I like it when people tell me that they have been praying for me. It makes me feel loved, and it makes me feel more empowered. It’s very encouraging. Sometimes I tell others when I’ve been praying for them, but I’m sure not as often as I should after thinking about how it makes me feel when I know. I will definitely work on that. I thouroughly enjoy your blogs. Wish you would write more often. You are so used by God.
