Hope from the Truths of God's Word

Who I am, Who I am not…

We all give consideration to what others think of us.  In the past, I was obsessed with it. But I had an intervention – a supernatural one.  I awoke one morning with the “knowing” that I was supposed to watch T.D. Jakes on tv. I grabbed the remote and checked TBN to find T.D. Jakes preaching. WOW! I listened to every word not wanting to miss what God was trying to tell me.

I played the message back in my mind all day and knew that His message to me was….”I am not who people say I am.” Hmmmmm. Then who am I?

Who I amSo happy to find out that I am who God says I am in His word.  WOW – where has this info been all my life? He created me, thinks about me (Psalm 144:3 & Jeremiah 29:11) and has plans for me. It took months of reciting this information outloud to deprogram my brain from believing I was valuable because certain people approved of my choices, my hair, my outfit, my words (1 Samuel 16:7 ).

I have been liberated. I am being liberated as I focus on the TRUTH!  Everything in this world tells me that I have to be a certain way to be Ok. WRONG! I am God’s child and so I am……

I you are reading this, we are probably close enough for me to ask you to do this. Would you pray for God to enlighten me even more regarding who I am to Him and who He is to me. I would love to pray this same for you as well.  I wonder what our friendships, families, work experience would be/could be with this one change.

About Jennifer O. White

I’m a simple wife who has discovered God’s amazing gift of prayer. Here at Prayerfully Speaking I share my journey of unwrapping this gift. God invites us to ask Him, but His enemy works diligently to keep that from happening. I hope to offer you encouragement to believe God is ready to pour more into your life than you’ve ever imaged.

I have just prayed that God will continue to enlighten you – guide you, and protect you.

I have prayed that he would open your heart more fully to his love, and lead you each day down the path that he would choose for you.

I have prayed that you would always be close to him, and never have any fear in your heart – and that he will be with you always.

I have prayed that God will bless your life richly in everything that he would have you do.

And, I thank God for having sent someone like you into my life and for the blessing you have brought into it.
