“May the Lord See You!” These are the words a new friend has been praying over me and I am just amazed by the timeliness of the prayer. I’m so excited to share this story with you. But before I do, let me ask you a question. Do you feel seen by our Savior?

I’m emotional thinking about how to share this with you. Several months ago, I was given the opportunity to share my heart with a songwriter who wanted to use my thoughts to inspire her next song. I prayed about it and I knew the Lord wanted me to tell her what He had been whispering to me about being “welcome.” As I would bring my unsettled thoughts to the Lord, He would consistently reply with the word “Welcome.” My sense was that no matter what I was stirred up about, He was putting His finger on a deeper issue. He knew I needed a new sense of belonging to Him.

I See You and You See Me

Ya’ll! Singer, songwriter, and poet, Christa Wells took my thoughts to a whole other level and wrote the song, Belonging. You can watch it here on YouTube. I wept, sobbed really, when I heard it the first few times. It is such a sweet salve for my heart. Look at these lyrics:

I’ll wave you down when you’re driving by
When you’re looking around for a welcome sign
I’ll look you in the eye – sometimes that’s all you need
Oh, there are lines we’ve never crossed
And the headlines never mention us
But I see you and you see me
That’s what I call belonging

After so much loss in the last few years, I really needed this.

My Perfect Father continues to help my soul receive His welcome. It is such a healing encounter. In 2 Timothy 3, we are warned that there will be people who will not see our worth (my paraphrase). Yet we are not to worry or despair because wherever sin increased, there was more than enough of God’s grace to triumph (Romans 5:21).

In our recent Bible study on Grace, we learned that grace means God is inclined to bless us. He bends down or leans toward us to give. What could someone take from us, that God couldn’t restore or replace exponentially. He gives beauty for the ashes. He offers double portions of honor and prosperity for the shame we endure (Isaiah 61). Are you expecting more than what you lost?

The Covid quarantines, shut downs, masks, and loss of hugs alone can leave us feeling so separate from others. But God … right!! He is the Waymaker and He makes a way for us to feel seen, to sense His welcome. Have you felt seen by Him lately?

Hope Dealers

I want to partner with you to help others feel seen and experience the peace of God. I’ve created a line of prayerful greeting cards to encourage, uplift, and impart the healing power of God’s Word into the lives of others. Want to hear the cool part? Yes? Good, ’cause I can’t wait to tell you.

The cards are set up as a subscription service. As a subscriber, you will receive very high quality cards delivered to your address each month. And you will get a free digital download of a card that you can print, send, frame, and/or share digitally. There are 3 very affordable subscription levels to choose from: Helping Hands, Courage Carriers, and Hope Dealers.

Here are a few examples of the cards I’ve created. You can see I have included original art as well as professionally designed covers.

I would love for you to join me in publishing the Good News. Together, we can ignite a prayer movement that will bring hope and God’s help to those He dearly loves. Your contribution will help me continue writing and publishing. Also, we will be a community of believers prayerfully and financially supporting orphans and widows in Nairobi, Kenya.

The greeting card subscription service is through Patreon where I go into detail about how to join and what you will receive as a part of the subscription. This is going to be such a fun way to help our friends feel seen and offer that sense of belonging we all need. And giving is always a blessing to us too.

Let’s send hope together.

If you have questions about the cards, the song, or want to share how the Lord has shown you that He sees you, let me know in the comments below or connect with me on social media.

May the Lord help you experience the wonder of His gaze, His smile aimed directly at you. In Jesus name, I pray believing. Amen.
